Angelo Cornelius Smith, known as "Doll Baby", was born to the late Charlie Smith and Girnell Boston Smith on July 16, 1958. He departed this life on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the home of his sister and caregiver, Brenda Smith Rease, in Pineywoods.
Four brothers preceded him in death; Shelton Smith, Charlie Smith, Jr., Emerson O. Smith, and Carl Kenneth Smith.
Angelo graduated from Jamesville High School and later attended Martin Community College, where he majored in Automotive Mechanics. His love for auto mechanics led him to work for Davis Body Shop and later, Colony Tire in Plymouth, NC.
Angelo renewed his vows with the Lord and Uniontown Church of Christ Disciples of Christ, in December 2015.
He leaves to cherish his memory: brothers and sisters, Marshall Smith (Roslyn) and Brenda Smith Rease of Jamesville, NC; Vivian Key (Willie) of Elizabeth City, NC; Dalton Smith (Jennifer) and Artis Smith (Flossie) of Jamesville, NC; and sisters-in-law, Mary Jones Smith of Jamesville, NC; and Linda Smith of Plymouth, NC.
Angelo is survived by three aunts: Bessie Boston of Jamaica, NY; Lillian Smith of Jamesville, NC; and Alice Smith of Windsor, NC.
Angelo also leaves to mourn his special friend of many years, Annie Jones, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
