Obituary

Mrs. Audrey Williams Brown was born May 6, 1942 in Roper, NC. She was the daughter of Herbert Williams and Victoria Davis Williams. Audrey graduated from Washington County Union High School in 1960, after which she relocated to Brooklyn, New York. While in New York she worked several jobs. On March 23, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York Audrey married Henry "Hawk" Brown. To this union one child was born, Toni Y. Brown. Audrey and Hawk decided to return to Plymouth to live in 1974. Audrey was a devoted wife and mother. She was family oriented, dedicated, dependable, kind, loving, and always willing to lend a helping hand. Audrey was quiet but when she spoke they were "words of wisdom". She gave her life to the Lord and became a student of the word. Audrey loved the Lord and it was evident in the life she lived. Early in life she joined Mount Delane Baptist Church and later joined Victory Christian Fellowship Church. Audrey served as Administrative Secretary/ Treasurer for many years at Fountain of Life Full Gospel Baptist Church formerly known as Mount Delane Baptist Church as well as came to business and life in general he served as Bus Monitor for Washington County Schools. Audrey was a dedicated volunteer/ participant as well as Meals on Wheels volunteer at the Washington County Senior Center for many years. She worked with Mr. & Mrs. Allen Harris designing Family Bible Study Guides that are distributed all over the country. Audrey was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary Chapter # 62 Plymouth, NC. Audrey leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Toni Y. Brown Powell, one son-in-law Darryl Powell, two grandchildren Daevon and Darrah Powell. She leaves one brother Herbert Williams Jr. (Amanda) of Halifax, NC, one sister-in-law Rebecca Williams of Far Rockaway, NY. She had three siblings to precede her in death Della Norman, Frank Williams, and Marjorie Brooks. Audrey also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to cherish her memories. Funeral services were 11:00AM July 20. 2013 with Pastor Avis D. Hammond, officiating. Burial followed in Fountain of Life Cemetery.
