Carl Kenneth Smith, better known as "Kenny Boy" was born October 23, 1946 to the late Charlie Smith and Girnell Boston Smith. He departed this life on February 11, 2016 at his home in Pineywoods.
Carl worked at Georgia Pacific driving a Caterpillar log loader, until the mill closed. Afterwards, he worked for the State of North Carolina Department of Transportation for approximately 25 years. Carl Kenneth joined Uniontown Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) at an early age and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
He leaves to cherish his memories; three sons- Kenny of Washington, DC., Anthony (Keisha) and Carl (Millie) of Raleigh, NC; one daughter- Hope of Windsor, NC; brothers- Marshall Smith (Rosalyn), Dalton Smith (Jennifer) Artis Smith (Flossie), Angelo Smith all of Jamesville, NC., sisters- Brenda Smith Rease of Jamesville, NC., Vivian Key (Willie) of Elizabeth City, NC.; sisters-in-law- Mary Jones Smith of Jamesville, NC., Linda Smith of Plymouth, NC.; three aunts- Bessie Boston of Jamaica, NY., Lillian Smith of Jamesville, NC., Alice Smith of Windsor, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, one great grandchild, godchildren and friends.
Three brothers preceded him in death, Shelton Smith, Charlie Smith, Jr. and Emerson O. Smith.
Funeral services were 1:00PM February 14, 2016 at Uniontown Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) with Bishop Daniel Boston, officiating. Burial followed in Uniontown Church Cemetery.
