Cassie Mae Morris Anderson was born May 20, 1913 to the late Nathaniel Morris and Mary Bell Swendell Morris. She was reared along the banks of the Mattamuskeet Lake in Fairfield, NC. Her earliest education was in Hyde County and later attended Pantego High School.

Cassie met and married William Henry Anderson from Snow Hill, NC. This union was blessed with four children- Otis, Carolyn, Nathaniel, and James.

She joined Mt. Caramel Church of Christ at an early age and later joined Spring Green Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ).

She loved to fish and was a superb cook. She retired from the Washington Street School Cafeteria as a cook after many years of service.

She leaves to cherish her memory: three sons- Otis Anderson- Roper, NC., Nathaniel Thomas- Hempstead, NY., James Edward Thomas- Norwalk, Ct.; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by husband- William Anderson, daughter- Carolyn Thomas,sisters- Goldie, Mary, Vernice and two nephews James Hooker and James Morgan.

Funeral services were held 2:00PM June 16, 2012 at Spring Green Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) with Elder Emmitt Godette officiating. Burial followed in Toodle's Cemetery
