Cecil Ray Drake was born December 20, 1950 in Bertie County to the late William Cecil Drake and Lessie Bunch Drake. He departed this life on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice.

He received his education in Washington County public Schools, graduating from Plymouth High School in 1970.

Cecil was drafted into the United States Army, January 13, 1971. He faithfully served his country until he was honorably discharged on January 13, 1973.

At an early age, he developed a passion for fixing cars, becoming well-known around Plymouth at the "Town's Mechanic".

Cecil leaves to cherish his memory, five children: Tonya Drake Mill, Sonya Drake, Tanisha Grimes (Kwuanta) all of Greenville, North Carolina, Sharina Carter of Roper, North Carolina and Michael Norman of California: ten grandchildren: three sisters: Bettie Bratts of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Barbara Blount and Brenda Drake both of Plymouth, North Caroilna and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services were held at Toodles's Funeral Home, Plymouth, North Carolina, with Bishop Willie Bell, Officiating. Burial followed at Ellis Lee Cemetery, Plymouth, North Carolina
