Charlie Frank Belcher, Sr.'s Obituary
Charlie Frank Belcher, Sr. was the last of eleven children born to the late Johnnie Herman Belcher and Rhoda Sutton Belcher on December 2, 1934 in Plymouth, NC. His eternal appointed date was December 15, 2016, twelve days after his birthday.
Charlie was educated in the Washington County Public School system in Plymouth, NC. Upon graduation from high school, he joined the United States Army and served honorably for two years. After his Honorable Discharge, he attended Coyne Electrical School in Chicago, IL.
Charlie was a God-fearing man that believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior. He was saved and baptized at an early age. His beautiful, melodic tenor voice could always be heard in the choir.
He was an ordained Deacon in St. Peter Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ; he also served as church Treasurer and President of the choir.
Charlie was also a 32nd Degree Mason-Alexander Lodge #2 in Philadelphia, PA.
He met Cherrie Mae Fuller in church one night; they fell in love, got married and stayed married for over sixty years. To their loving union, three children were born, and all were named after their dad.
Charlie leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Cherrie Fuller Belcher, of the home; his children, Charlena B. Martin (Michael), and Charlie F. Belcher, Jr. (Djuana), both of Philadelphia, PA; and Charlenzo V. Belcher (Erin) of Clayton, NC.
His grandchildren are; Michael Jr., Brent, Ciara, Tai, Coriandra, Tjuana, Danielle, Juawon, Chazmin and Charlie, III.
Charlie was blessed with great grandchildren: Michael, III, Ryan, Naomi, Kahj, Kai, Gianna, and Dorian.
Charlie will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his siblings; Catherine, Odell, Benjamin, Willie, Aristle, Johnnie, Jocepheus, McKinley, Ethel Lee and Rafe.
