Obituary

Clinton Earl Nixon was born on April 24, 1958 in Washington County. Clinton departed this life on September 9, 2015 at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.

Clint or "Plute" to his friends and family attended Washington County Schools and graduated from Plymouth High School. "Plute" was very handy and as a young boy, he built his very own bicycle. He came to live with his grandmother, Nicey Nixon-Pledger and during that time his Uncle William and Aunt Cardelia Nixon became like his parents. he had a serious live for cars and racing, building his own car at a very young age.

After graduating from high school, he worked at Harrison Hardware. He soon relocated to Rocky Mount, NC and had various jobs. George and Anne Birth took "Plute" under their wing and under their tutelage he became an entrepreneur opening his business as a mechanic. He was an outstanding mechanic until his health failed him.

"Plute" will be best remembered as a man who loved his family. He had an amazing sense of humor and he had a unique way of making people laugh. He was full of life and friendly to all who met him. He will be remembered as one who went out of his way to help others and he will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Minnie Nixon, many aunts, Shirley Mae Clagon (sister), Arlene Young (sister).

He leaves behind to cherish his memories: father- John Henry Norman, Sr.,- Boston, Mass., daughter- Key'oshi Edwards- Rocky Mount, NC., special uncles who help to raise him- William (Cardelia) Nixon- Roper, NC., Perlis (Cleo) Nixon- Roper, NC., adopted sons- Marcos Shields and Lamont Edwards both of Rocky Mount, NC., sisters- Wendy Garcia-Brooklyn, NY., Lisa Garcia- Pennsylvania, Annette (William) Boykins- Boston, Mass., Jeanette (McNair) Graves- Boston, Mass., Ida (Wilbert) Ping- Boston, Mass., brothers- Bernard (Beverly) Norman- Boston, Mass., John Henry (Paulette) Norman, Jr.,- Boston, Mass., Corey (LaTonya) Nixon- Greenville, NC., Andre (Brenda) Nixon- Roper, NC., and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives and friends. And many special friends from Rocky Mount, NC.

Funeral services were 12:00PM Wednesday September 16, 2015 at Toodle's Chapel with Rev. Corey L. Nixon, eulogist, Bishop Daniel Gilliam, officiating. Burial followed in New Bethel Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) Cemetery.
