Bishop Daniel Boston, Sr. was born November 11, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY. He was the son of the late Samuel Boston and Callie McNair Boston. He departed this earthly life on September 11, 2016. Bishop graduated from Washington County Union School in 1960 and moved to Brooklyn, NY. It was there he met, as he would say, "The Prettiest Woman in the World," at the candy shop; his heart, his love, his only and forever lady, Sister Flora J. Boston.

Bishop had a myriad of accomplishments, but he was most proud of his service and dedication to his work for God. At an early age, he joined Shiloh Church of Christ(Disciples of Christ) under the leadership of Aronious Cooper. From there he blossomed into a mighty warrior for God. He studied, taught and built firm foundations. He was dedicated to God's work. He spent countless nights visiting, ministering and teaching to whomever, even of they were not members of his congregation. He was concerned about winning souls, but most importantly, he was obedient to the instructions of the Lord.

Bishop was goal oriented and a hard worker who put his heart and soul into everything he did. For some time his wife and family lived in Chesapeake, VA., where he was employed with Sears and Roebuck as a mechanic. But God was continuing his work within him and called him to minister to his people. Bishop had no choice but answer that call, which forced him to leave Virginia and return to North Carolina, the place he called home. He began preaching at Promise Land Church of Christ(Disciples of Christ) then he journeyed to Uniontown Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) where he served until he was called home. He was also the Bishop for the Eastern North Carolina and Virginia District Assembly for over thirty years. There he worked, he preached the Doctrine and built up a Kingdom for the Church of Christ. He preached Ephesians 4:5, "One Lord, one faith and one Baptism."

Bishop would go back to school in his senior years and received several Associate Degrees from Martin Community College. He earned an Associate Degree in Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Electrician and Mechanics. This allowed him the honor of becoming a professor for both Beaufort Community College and Martin Community College where he taught Electrician classes for two prisons.

Bishop leaves to cherish his memory; his devoted and loving wife- Mrs. Flora J. Boston of the home; four sons- Daniel Boston, Jr.(Arlene)- Suffolk, VA., Antonio Boston (Toni)- Chester, VA., Gregory Boston (Angela)- Plymouth, NC., Dominic Boston (Melissa)- Bowie, MD.; three daughters- Jean Moore- Plymouth, NC., Valerie Horton- Jamesville, NC., Venus Boston- Winston-Salem, NC.; two sisters- Emmalean Howell- Williamston, NC., Elsie Mae James (Otha Lee)- Plymouth, NC.; two aunts- Irma Parker- Roanoke Rapids, NC., Omia Robbins- Virginia Beach, VA,; thirteen grandchildren- Nikita, Jervail , Jerome, Antwon, Demetri, DeAngelo, Aaron, Iyanna, Arlisha, Donte', Adarius, Dominic, Tru,; two great grandchildren- Jale'ya, Jadden; a second mother- Lena P. Cuffie; a close cousin who was more like a brother- Warren "LeAndrew" McNair and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00PM Saturday September 17, 2016 at Eastern North Carolina & Virginia District Headquarters Assembly, Roper, NC. Burial will follow in Uniontown Church Cemetery.

Visitation services will 6:00PM to 8:00PM Friday September 16, 2016 at Uniontown Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ).
