Dennis Lee Blount, Sr. was born May 12, 1942 in Plymouth, NC to the late John and Alice Blount. He was one of six children; Arthur, John, Jr., Novella, Ann and Clarestine. He passed away on June 7, 2016 at his home in West New York, New Jersey in his sleep.

He served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968. He later went to college and obtained his Bachelor Degree.

Dennis has been married to the love of his life, Elizabeth Blount for over 53 years. He met her in North Carolina while attending Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, where Elizabeth's father, Elder James Spruill was Pastor at the time. Later after they had gotten married, they moved to New York in search of better opportunities. During his later years, Dennis was a teacher with the West New York Board of Education.

He is survived by his beloved wife- Elizabeth (Nee Spruill) Blount, son- Dennis Lee Blount, Jr.(fiancée-Tammie Johnson) daughter- Yvonne Elizabeth Wynn(husband-Jason), sister- Anne Blount, sisters-in-law- Margaret Downing, Ananias Spruill, Sylvia Spruill, and Helen Spruill, grandchildren- David, Bria, Brockston, and Brandon.

Funeral services were 1:00PM Saturday June 18, 2016 at Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ with Pastor Wilbert Jackson, pastor/officiating. Burial followed in Toodle's Cemetery
