Dorothy Mae Boston Calloway Laws, oldest of fourteen children of the late James and Virgie Biggs Boston was born in Plymouth, North Carolina, on April 4, 1933. Following over 81 years of helping others, God called Dorothy home, Thursday, June 12, 2014.

Dorothy began her education in the Washington County School System. Then as a teenager she moved to Norfolk, Virginia where she became a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church. Dorothy retired from the Norfolk Public School System as a Custodian, but continued helping others as she faithfully helped the Seniors in the community.

Dorothy married Willie S. Calloway and Garland Laws, both preceded her in death. She also had two children who preceded her in death, George Calloway and Telsa Calloway.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory, ten children: Joseph V. Calloway, Dorothy L. Calloway, Velma F. Calloway, James L. Calloway, Jacqueline Calloway from Norfolk, Virginia, Georgia (John) Sampson of Chesapeake, Virginia, Patricia Airehrour (Lucky), Edward Calloway of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mary Watson (James) of Norfolk, Virginia, Willie Calloway (Julia) of Virginia Beach, Raymond Calloway of Hampton, Virginia and Lillie Scott (Russell) of Chesapeake, Virginia: two sisters, Gloria Moore (Leroy), Ola Faye Johnson (Herbert) of Plymouth, NC; four brothers, Milton Boston (Otesa) of Maryland, William Henry (Paula) of Chicago, Illinois, Larry Boston (Angela) of Plymouth, NC. and Ricky Boston (Maggie) of Norfolk, Virginia: twenty-three grandchildren: a host of great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 2:30 PM, at Union Town Church of Christ, Jamesville, NC. with Bishop Daniel Boston, Officiating. Burial followed at Union Town Church Cemetery, Jamesville, NC.
