Garry R. Collins was born December 8, 1966 to Willis H. Collins and Constance Marie Collins. On Friday, January 2, 2015, Garry departed this life at his home in Greenville, NC.

Garry was an person who loved to have a good time, enjoyed a good joke and would put a smile on your face. He enjoyed an array of activities such as a love of cars, antiques, traveling, and foremost he loved his family. Garry was loved and cherished by everyone who knew him.

Garry was a 1985 graduate of Plymouth High School. He was employed at Craven Correctional Institution where he worked for many years as a correctional officer. He worked as a counselor for at risk children at Design Guidance in Greenville, NC. Garry also worked at Weyerhaeuser Company for over ten years. Garry had a passion for mentoring and training people. He would assist others even during his personal time. No matter where Garry worked, he was a team player and gained respect from his fellow coworkers.

Garry is survived by his mother, Constance Marie Collins- Plymouth, NC; three brothers- Eric V. Collins (Jane)- Hampton, VA., Jeffrey A. Collins (Stephanie)- Raleigh, NC., Sylvester W. Collins, Sr., (ChaQueta)- Tarboro, NC.; sister- LaTrina S. Collins- Hampton, VA.; seven nieces- Nikki, Niesha, Lashaunda, Glennae, Jacey, CaSieva, Ebony; three nephews- Eric Jr., Jonathan, Sylvester Jr.; great nephew- Isiah; great niece- Mi'Anjial; 10 uncles; 12 aunts; 2 great uncles;2 great aunts; two special friends- Kenneth Barnes and Vincent Blount, and host of other family and friends.

Garry was preceded in death by his father, Willis H. Collins, Sr. and his brother Willis H. Collins, Jr.

Funeral services were 1:00PM Thursday January 8, 2015 at Toodle's Chapel with Brother Sylvester Collins, officiating. Burial followed in Faison/Cooper Cemetery.
