Geneva "Genny" Moore, 81, of Allentown, PA, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2014 in Westminster Village of Allentown. Born January 24, 1933 in Plymouth, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late George and Sallie Ann Simmons. She was one of thirteen children from this union, Geneva was happily married to William Stewart Moore for 55 years. Together they raised one son and four daughters; Bobby Moore (wife Carrie) of Easton, her daughters, Carolyn Drake of Pawtucket, RI, Violanta Moore of Allentown, PA, Daphne Moore of Allentown, PA and Penelope Moore-Fennell (husband Merrill) of Bethlehem, PA. Geneva's favorite past time was tending to the elements of the earth—gardening, fishing, dancing and sharing compassion for others. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Lily of the Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Plymouth, NC. Geneva is survived by her children, sisters: Juanita Hammie of Plymouth, NC, Virginia Godley of Plymouth, NC, Thelma Arrington of Greenville, NC, one brother, Ernest Simmons (wife Tazzie) of Greenville, NC, sisters-in-law; Lorraine Moore Jamesville, NC, Penelope Norman of Allentown, PA, Jeanette Moore of Mt. Vernon, NY, and brother-in-law, Harold Moore of Allentown, PA. She will be longed remembered by her loving family and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Moore, a son Gary Moore, brothers: Richard Garrett, Thomas Simmons, Clarence Simmons, George Simmons, Lonnie Simmons, Rudolph Simmons and sisters, Margaret Taylor and Mamie Sanders.
