Henry Louis Brooks was born January 14, 1939 to the late Wilbert Brooks and Hattie Brooks in Plymouth, NC. He was called home to glory on August 16, 2016 in Brooklyn, NY at home.
Henry graduated from Washington County Union High School. He later relocated to Brooklyn, NY, where he was employed with Burton Packaging Company in Queens, NY. Henry performed his duties in an exemplary manner and retired in good standing with Burton Packaging Company after many years of service.
Henry enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Also, he enjoyed dancing, cooking, listening to "old School" music, attending sporting events and watching western movies. He was known by many for his willingness to help others and a great sense of humor.
Henry is survived by his two daughters- Passion Brooks Lockett (Leonard)- Houston, TX, Kathy Merriweather (Anthony)- Norfolk, VA; two sons- Eugene Small- Brooklyn, NY, Alvin Sutton- Mt. Vernon, NY; three sisters- Hattie Simmons- Norfolk, VA, Joyce Riddick (Alfonzo)- Forestville, MD, Lillian Allen- Windsor, NC; two brothers- Robert Brooks (Jeunesse)- Plymouth, NC, Kenneth Brooks- Plymouth, NC; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services 1:00PM August 25, 2016 at Toodle's Chapel with Bishop Avery Barnes, officiating. Burial followed in Second Zion Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
