James "Tee Wee" Clifton Bell, was born August 30, 1948 to the late Samuel Bell and Lula Slade Bell. He departed the life Sunday June 8, 2014.
"Tee Wee" as he was affectionately known Spring Green Church of Christ at an early age. He graduated from Washington County Union School in 1967 and went on to further his education by attending Shaw University.
He became employed with the Martin County Corrections Facility where he served as a Corrections Officer. He was also a licensed official and loved officiating games. He especially enjoyed officiating the games on Saturday mornings at Washington Street Gym (Recreational Center) with the children.
"Tee Wee" returned back to the church he loved and rejoined, gave his life to Christ and became very active in the church. He was a member of the Male Chorus, Senior Usher Board, and a Sunday School Transportation driver. He will be truly missed.
James leaves to cherish his memory, his wife- Evone Cox Bell of the home; three sons- Mitchell Swain, Tracey Riddick, Durell Wynn; two daughters- Chevona (Terrence) Seaborn- Raleigh, NC, Patricia Sutton- Edenton, NC; four stepchildren- Marcus Cox, Michael Cox, Michele Cox-Sylvester, Morgan Cox; three sisters- Katie (Curtis) Davis, Lula Johnson, Annie Small; one brother- Ernest Bell; special friend- Stanley Hicks, Jr.; seven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services were 2:00PM Sunday June 15, 2014 at Spring Green Church of Christ(Disciples of Christ) with Elder Stanley Hicks, Sr., Pastor, officiating. Burial followed in Watson Memorial Garden, Roper.
