Jeanette Blount was born July 21, 1958 in Plymouth, NC. She was the daughter of the late Goliath Blount and Willie Mae Cox Blount. She passed on November 15, 2016 at home.

Jeanette attended Washington County School in Roper, NC. At an early age she moved to New York City and made her livelihood there. She worked as a School Crossing Guard for over twenty years in the Brooklyn New York School System.

Jeanette leaves to cherish her memories; one daughter- Robin Mitchell- Killeen, TX; four sisters- Dorothy Sutton (Harold)- Roper, NC, Vercal Barnes- Plymouth, NC, Dianne Bennett- Brooklyn, NY, Emma Jackson- Mt. Vernon, NY; two brothers- William Goliath (Pop) Blount and John Freeman (Good Buddy) both of Plymouth, NC; fiance'- Joseph Barrow- Plymouth, NC; one aunt- Carrie Collins- Brooklyn, NY; and ahost of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jeanette was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Blount and two brothers, Goliath Freeman and Charlie Lee Blount.

Funeral services were 1:00PM November 21, 2016 at Spring Green Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) with Minister Silas Norman, eulogist, Bishop Stanley C. Hicks, pastor. Burial followed in Toodle's Cemetery.
