John Maurice Brooks was born July 17, 1971 to late Carlton and Marjorie Williams Brooks. He was called home on October 15, 2014 in Raleigh, NC.

He was the baby of five children. Johnny attended public schools for a short time and then went on to get his GED. Johnny enjoyed sports and love listening to music. He had a wonderful sense of humor and always knew how to make you laugh. He was very generous man and would give you his last.

Johnny's request was to be dressed from head to toe in the "Dallas Cowboys" apparel. If anyone truly knew Johnny, they knew he LOVED "Dem Boys".

Johnny leaves to cherish his precious memory, three daughters: Kierra Carter of Plymouth, NC, Taylor and Brianna Hoskins of Knightdale, NC; one son, DaSonte' Banks of Raleigh, NC; four sisters: Victoria Barrow, Wanda Brooks and Chantal Brooks all of Plymouth, NC, and Michelle Walker of Raleigh, NC; one brother, Carl M. Brooks of Raleigh, NC; one uncle, Herbert Williams, Jr.; two aunts Delinda Downing and Katherine Davis; two grandchildren, two nieces, four nephews, two great nieces, three great nephews; his fiance', Jennifer Motley of Raleigh, NC, and host of cousins and friends
