Johnnie Augustus Cabarrus, Sr. was born June 1, 1954 in Washington County. He was the son of the late John Lee Cabarrus and Marjorie Riddick Cabarrus. He passed away peacefully on June 18, 2017 at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.

He is survived by his wife Carrie Cabarrus- Creswell; sons- Johnnie Cabarrus, Jr.- Roper, NC., Keith Cabarrus- Edenton, NC; daughters- Felicia Cabarrus- Winterville, NC., Jasmine Cabarrus- Creswell, NC; brother- Carlton Cabarrus- Richmond, VA.; sisters- Glenda Phillips- Creswell, NC., and Carolyn Fields- Richmond, VA.

Funeral service will be 12:00PM Friday June 23, 2017 at St. John Missonary Baptist Church in Creswell with Bishop George Cabarrus, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00PM to 8:00PM Thursday at Toodle's Chapel. The body will placed in church one prior to service.
