Karen Arnold Bell was born April 19, 1958 in Roper, NC. She as the daughter of the late Welma and Dorothy Arnold. She was called to eternal rest on December 20, 2015.
Karen joined Union Chapel Disciples of Christ Church at an early age. She attended school in Washington County where she met the love of her life, Wade Bell. After graduating high school, Karen and Wade moved to Baltimore, MD where they resided for four years. They returned to Washington County where they later married. To this union, four children were born.
Karen was a loving, dedicated and generous mother, wife, sister, cousin, and friend. She always kept a house full of children whom she loved as her own; two of which she had a large part on raising since birth, Mario Small and Jamal Small.
Karen worked at Latham's Shoe Store and "Little Man" Restaurant over the years. She had many hobbies such as upholstery, sewing, decorating and dancing. However her main passion was cooking. She touched the lives of everyone she met. She will be greatly missed.
Karen leaves to cherish her memories: husband- Wade Bell- Plymouth, NC; daughters- Tara Bell Weathersbe (Terry)- Everetts, NC., Karen Bell- Williamston, NC., Shayla Bell- Plymouth, NC.; son- Wade Bell, Jr.-La Plata, MD.; four grandchildren- Tiana Rascoe, Tania Weathersbe, Angel Bell, Mikael Bell; four sisters- LaVerne Harper- Plymouth, NC., Shelia Gills- Newport News, VA., Jeannine Singleton (Eddie)- Vanceboro, NC., Angenella Basnight- Cary, NC.; three brothers- Welma Arnold, Jr.- Lynchburg, VA., Jerry Arnold (Sandra)- Roper, NC., Stugart Arnold (Peggy)- Plymouth, NC.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
One brother, Leo Arnold, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were 1:00PM December 28, 2015 at Long Ridge Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. General James, pastor/officiating. Burial followed in Simmons Cemetery.
