After a brief illness, Lana, affectionately known as Lannapea to family, passed from earth to glory on Monday, March 16, 2015 at Novant Health Medical Center in Matthews, NC. Lana was the daughter of the late Albert and Alverita Jones and the loving sister of Albert Jones Jr. of Saint Louis, MO; Willie J. Jones of Louisa, VA; Perry M. Jones (Angela) of Norfolk, VA; Frederick A. Jones and Neil Jones (Michele) both of Charlotte, NC; Allison Jones-Young (Ricky) and Michelle R. Hudson (William) both of Charlotte, NC. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Riddick and Delano and Michael Ray (Cynthia).

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons: Corey D. Jones of Creswell, NC and Matthew A. Jones of Charlotte, NC; a devoted daughter, Stephanie R. Tillman of Charlotte, NC; and one granddaughter, Airyanna Simpson of Roper,NC. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Lana leaves behind to mourn her passing a host of nephews and nieces; great nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends.

She was educated in the public schools of Washington County, NC. She briefly attended NCA&T and Central Piedmont Community College where she obtained her certification as a certified nurses assistant (CNA). Lana continued her preparation and education by earning her certification as a Phlebotomist. After receiving her certifications, she was quickly hired by Laboratory Corporation of America (LabCorp) and was assigned to the Arborteum OB/GYN where she spent the rest of her career and thoroughly enjoyed her work. and workplace.

Lana was a rare and beautiful person who graced us all with her presence and abundant love. We are grateful to God that she is now at peace and in the loving presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 21, 2015 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Creswell, NC, with Reverend Tyrone Harrison, Pastor, Officiating. Burial followed at St. John Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Creswell, NC.
