Lawrence Norman, Sr., was born July 7, 1922 in Roper, NC. He was the son of the late Lillie B. Norman and the late Lory D. Norman. He departed this life on Wednesday January 14, 2015 at his home surrounded by family.

Lawrence was a loving, caring, happy one of a kind person that enjoyed life to the fullest. A farmer by trade, he was an honest, hardworking man that solely believed in taking care of his family and others that he loved. He freely and willingly gave to any person in need and encouraged everyone that he met and talked to. Acts of Love & Kindness were his way of life for all to see.

He was married to Cleanora N. Norman, who preceded him in death. They were married for seventy years and were blessed with six children, two of whom, Lawrence Norman, Jr. and Mattie Norman Rawls, preceded him in death also.

He leaves to cherish his memories: three sons- Henry Norman(Teenie)- Creswell, NC., Raymond Norman- Washington, NC., Samuel Norman- Roper, NC.; one daughter- Lucretia Norman- Roper, NC.; two brothers- Jimmy Norman(Alvania)- Roper, NC., Herman Norman- Mt. Vernon, NY.; sister-in-law- Lucinda Norman- Roper, NC.; daughter-in-law- Janester Norman- Creswell, NC.; son-in-law- Trennis Rawls- Columbia, NC.; one special niece- Mandy Midgett- Roper, NC., nineteen grandchildren, forty great grandchildren, twelve great-great grandchildren and a host of cousins and friends.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his sister, Beulah Howell and brothers, Charlie Norman, Jack Norman, Joe Norman, Edison Norman, Lory Norman, and Thurman Norman.

Funeral services were 2:00PM Monday January 19, 2015 at Shiloh Church of Christ(Disciples of Christ) with Vice-Bishop Daniel Gilliam officiating. Burial followed in Shiloh Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
