Linda E. Simpson was born August 15, 1944 in Plymouth, NC to the late Roy and Lula Simpson. She passed from this life quietly and peacefully on May 15, 2013 after suffering through cancer.

She was brought up in Spring Green Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) and was baptized at an early age by Elder Noah Boston. She attended Fourth Street Elementary School and received her high school diploma in 1962 from Washington County Union High School.

At Spring Green Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) she was a member of the Pastor's Aid Support Ministry, Personal Attendant to the First Lady, member of the Usher's Board, and Assistant Secretary for Sunday School. She loved to participate in all church activities especially the Rainbow Tea. She loved Elder Hicks, Lady Hicks, and the entire Spring Green family.

She was employed for the Nabisco Company and then for a cosmetic's dye company near Newburgh, New York until she retired in 2007. She had a green thumb and a passion for Christmas decorations. She was an avid sports fan, she loved to bowl and loved watching basketball (once a big time Knicks's fan but later she loved to watch LeBron bring on the Heat) and she loved watching tennis, her favorites, the Williams Sisters and Federer.
