Lou Ella Pittman was born on May 31, 1921 in Plymouth, NC to the late Stark and Ethel Hoggard. She entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Roanoke Landing Nursing and Rehab Center in Plymouth, NC.
She attended Washington County public schools.
Lou Ella was predeceased by her parents, Stark and Ethel Hoggard; her husband, Mark Pittman; children, Evangeline (Van) Lacy, Edward (Hawk) Hoggard; and sisters, Carrie Hoggard, Beatrice Cotton and Ethel Hoggard.
Her hobbies were cooking, cleaning and talking with others about things that had come and gone in her lifetime. Lou Ella was proud that she never drank strong drink or used tobacco. She always had an interesting story to tell or saying to relate to her listener.
She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory; her granddaughter, Pamela Lacy-McNeill (Reginald) of Knightdale, NC; grandsons, Anthony Lacy (Maryann) and Edward Hoggard, Jr., also of Knightdale, NC; Alton Lacy (Deborah) of Raleigh, NC, and Vincent Lacy of Plymouth, NC; one niece, Carrie Edwards (Michael) of Long Beach, NJ; eleven great-grandchildren, twelve great-great grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
