Louis Elwood Moore was born in Washington County on January 28, 1944. He was the son of the late John Henry and Katie Blanche Moore. God sent his angels to Earth on Friday, July 10, 2015 to guide him home. Our hearts rejoice at heaven's gain.
There are not enough words to describe the love that Louis's family have for him. He never met a stranger and loved everyone. He would carry on conversation like he has known you for years. "Louie Douie" and "Cool Louis" are just a few of the names he was affectionately called throughout his 71 years here on earth. He attended Washington County Schools. Louis was a man of few words but the words he did say spoke volumes to the type of man he was. Being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather was his life's joy. A family man in every sense of the word always loving on his siblings, friends, and anyone he would meet. His love of life brought about much laughter amongst each person he came in contact with. He enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. Let's not forget his love of ice cream and sweets. He was a member of Cooper's Temple Church of God in Christ in Plymouth, NC.
He was loved by many but leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 43 years, Panzella Patrick Moore; one son, Stephen Patrick(Sherry)- Fredericksburg, VA.; four daughters, Sharon Simmons- Greenville, NC., Christina Moore Person(Ronnie)- Plymouth, NC., Karen Moore- Plymouth, NC., Jacqueline Bell- Plymouth, NC.; one adopted daughter, Keziah Gray- Plymouth, NC.; two sisters, Shirley Biggs-Plymouth, NC., Elaine Moore Jackson- Plymouth, NC.; three brothers, John Henry Moore, Eli Moore, and Leroy (Gloria) Moore all of Plymouth, NC.; 15 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, special friend, Ben Simmons, Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He had four brothers and two sisters who preceded him in death: William Benjamin Moore, Robert Steward Moore, Carrie Dell Moore Norman, Alexander Moore, Alice Moore McNair, and Abraham Moore.
Funeral services were 2:00PM Wednesday July 15, 2015 at Temple of Christ Church, with Pastor Elmer Cooper, officiating, Bishop Avery Barnes, pastor. Burial followed in Spruill Eternal Rest Cemetery.
