Lovella Huffman Rowson, 74, of Roper, NC left this life peacefully on Thursday July 19, 2012 at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.

She was born on August 21, 1937 in Logan, West Virginia to the late Fred Huffman and Theresa Brown Huffman. The family relocated to Mt. Vernon, NY in 1952, where she met her future husband Robert Rowson in high school.

Lovella graduated from Edison High School in Mt. Vernon, NY. On August 1, 1959 she married Robert Rowson. She was employed at the Sarah Newman Nursing Home in Larchmont. The family relocated to Roper, NC in 1996. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Center in Plymouth and enjoyed the Center's choir in which her husband sings. She also participated in the Senior Olympics.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Robert Rowson of Roper, three brother-in-laws, five sister-in-laws, three aunts and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter Brenda Kay, her parents, her husband's parents, two brothers, two brother-in-laws, one sister, and one sister-in-law.

Funeral services were held 11:00AM July 28, 2012 at Toodle's Funeral Home with Elder Eric Rowson officiating. Burial followed in Rowson Family Cemetery.
