Obituary

Marilyn Elizabeth Wilder Baker was born November 16, 1951 to the late Chester Arthur, Sr. and Bettie Elizabeth Watson Wilder in Brooklyn, NY. She departed this life on September 19, 2015 at Washington County Hospital, Plymouth, NC.

Marilyn was educated through high school and lived the first half of her adult life in New York. She was married in 1973 and later divorced Rhoden Eugene Baker. From this union, she gave birth to two sons, Rhoden Eugene Baker, Jr. and Ronnie Stephen Baker, who preceded her in death.

Marilyn moved to her parents hometown of Plymouth, NC in 1980 and joined her family church, Spring Green Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ). She worked at Pine Tree Restaurant, Weyerhaeuser Plywood, Plymouth Garment Factory, Plumblee Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and The Roanoke Home Care Center in Williamston, NC.

Marilyn leaves to celebrate her life and rejoice in her memories: daughter- Sarah Sakina Wilder- Durham, NC.; sons- Darryl Steven Carr, Jr.- West VA., Joseph Lee Wilder- Plymouth, NC.; grandson- Jahmeek Jah'hein Wilder- Plymouth, NC.; special friend- Louis Webb- Plymouth, NC.; devoted friends- Brenda Gilliam, Katie Mae Davis, Walt Watson- all of Plymouth, NC.; one sister and brother-in-law- Vernetta and James Lewis Rascoe- Jamesville, NC.; nephew- Chester Arthur Wilder, III; nieces- Kisha Wilder and Katherine Rascoe, seven great nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins and friends.

Her brother, Chester Arthur Wilder, Jr. preceded her in death.

Graveside services were 12:00PM Saturday September 26, 2015 with Elder Emmitt Godette, officiating. Burial was in Webb Cemetery Reno Road, Plymouth, NC.
