Milton Lee "Pete" Grimes was born on February 20, 1949 in Bethel, NC. He was the son of the late Henry and Christine Grimes. He attended Bethel High School. Upon his graduation he moved to Roper, NC and worked for Sid Hassell as a Dairy Farmer for many years.

Milton lived and loved Carlie and Martha Swain. He cherished De'Ziyala Clark and Aliyah Hill. He called them his "Babies". Milton worked with his best friend Carlie Swain until his death. He was affectionately known as "Pete" to all of us. He dearly loved to laugh with his good fiend Roosevelt Swain. Milton hobbies were cleaning, cutting wood and working in the garden.

He leaves to cherish his memories: dear friends- Carlie Swain and Martha Swain; brother- Henry Grimes, Jr.; sisters Mary Ann Poppage, Louise Grimes, Dorothy Gordon, Ann Lee Grimes and a host of other relatives.
