Ophelia Orr Patterson was born January 12, 1937 to the late Harry and Janie Orr. She slept away peacefully on May 12, 2013 at Roanoke Landing Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.

She attended public schools on Hampton County South Carolina. She joined Bethlehem Baptist Church in Hampton, SC. at an early age and attended Zion Hill Baptist Church in Plymouth until her health failed.

In Ophelia's younger years she enjoyed playing basketball, gardening and growing flowers in her flower beds. In her later years she loved cooking, fishing, and spending quality time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ophelia will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was married to Joseph Patterson, who survives.

She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters- Vivian Drayton, Fairfax, SC., Rose Patterson, Plymouth, Sandra Barrow, Williamston, NC., Glada Vaughn, Roosevelt, NY., one son- Leyvonne Patterson, Washington, NC., three sisters- Bessie Anderson, Savannah, GA., Elnora Loadholt, Fairfax, SC., Mildred Harrison, Brocktono, Mass., two brothers- John Orr, Roxbury, Mass., James Orr, Hyde Park, Mass., sons-in-law- William Vaughn, William Barrow, daughter-in-law- Dina Patterson, sisters-in-law- Essie Orr, Sally Orr, twelve grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and devoted friends. Lillie Mae Orr, Gladys Orr and Harry Orr preceded her in death.

Funeral services were 2:00PM Saturday May 18, 2013 at Toodle's Funeral Chapel with Apostle Thomas E. Smith officiating. Burial followed in Toodle's Cemetery.
