Retha Mae McNair was born September 15, 1938 in Lumberton, NC to Curtis McQueen and Retha Thompson.
She touched many lives in many different ways. Retha as well known in her community. She was never shy and always spoke her mind. Just as many of us, Retha did have her ways, but many people loved and respected her for her straight-forward honesty.
Retha enjoyed spending time with her family. She found joy in completing crossword puzzles and watching soap operas and reality shows. She really enjoyed listening to music and dancing. She spent a lot of time just sitting on her porch and chatting with anyone who passed by.
In her 76 years of life, she leaves one surviving daughter Reta Ann McQueen Smith, three grand-daughters and seven great-grandchildren all of Plymouth, NC., a sister Annie Lois Brown of Fairmont, NC., sisters and brothers of South Carolina, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly.
Funeral services were October 31, 2014 at Toodle's Chapel with her granddaughters providing eulogist services. Burial was in Mill Branch Cemetery on Faison, NC.
