Ronald Lee Phelps, Jr. was born July 4, 1987 in Edenton, NC to Deacon Ronald and Cynthia Phelps and biologically to Malcolm Lewis.
He departed this life on December 19, 2012.
He was a member of Shiloh Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) and was an active participant in Sunday School, plays, skits and singing in the Male Chorus. While in high school, he worked for Wanchese Trawl and Blackwell Boat Work.
Ronald, Jr. graduated from Plymouth High School in 2005 and was voted as most dependable and most likely to succeed by his senior class. Ronald's passion was to be a professional baseball player and received scholarships from North Carolina A&T State University and Tennessee Wesleyan College to pursue his career. His positions included second baseman and pitcher. His course study consisted of electronics and computer technology.
Ronald Jr. was recently married to Megan Davis on November 20, 2012. They resided in Whitsett, NC. He was employed by CRST as a truck driver and had been driving for four months.
Words do an injustice in explaining how much we will miss Ronald Jr. but he will remain very alive in our hearts and memories.
He leaves to cherish his memories: wife- Megan Phelps and his unborn son; parents- Deacon Ronald and Cynthia Phelps; birth father- Malcolm (Suga Mack) Lewis; two sisters- Ashley and Tiffany Phelps; two brothers- Patrick and Tevin Phelps; niece- Abby Phelps; grandparents- Christine Lewis, Gurtha and Doris Barrow; in-laws- Willie(Tater) and Beverly Davis; sister-in-law- Diamond Davis; two brothers-in-law- Ethan and Mister Davis; anuts, uncles cousins, other relatives and friends.
Preceeding him in death are grandparents Joseph Lewis, Jamrs Robert Phelps, and Mattie Lean Phelps.
Funeral services were held 1:00PM Thursday December 27, 2012 at Eastern North Carolina and Virginia District Assembly Roper, NC with Vice Bishop Daniel Gilliam, officiating. Burial followed in Shiloh Memorial Gardens.
