Selander Andre' Simpson was born April 17, 1974 to Lula Mae and Ramos Simpson. He departed this life, Thursday September 13, 2012. He was 38.

He was educated in Washington County Public Schools. He attended Elizabeth City State University for a short term. He was a member of Rising Moon Lodge #59 in Roper, NC where he served as Worshipful Master from 2008 to 2010. He was an active member of the community. He was employed at Domtar Paper Company.

Andre' accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Eprew Missionary Baptist Church where he was an active member.

Andre' believed and displayed loving thou neighbor and caring for others. Family and friends were his passion and joy. He was willing to offer a helping hand to anyone. He had a passion for softball and hunting.

In 2005, he married his long-time companion Ida Swain Simpson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife-Ida Marie Simpson-of the home, one son- Aaron Simpson-Chesapeake, VA., four daughters- Aaliyah Swain, Na'Diamond Swain, Jamyra Simpson and Shalanda Simpson- all of Roper, parents- Ramos and Lula Mae Simpson-Roper, two brothers- David Simpson- Midlothian, VA., and Timothy Simpson- Roper, one sister- Crystal Simpson-Charlotte, NC. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held 1:00PM Tuesday September 18, 2012 at Mt Eprew Missionary Baptist Church wit Reverend James W. Harris officiating. Burial followed in Simpson Family Cemetery.
