Vanessa "Nessie" Jordan was born March 29, 1956 in Washington County. She was the youngest daughter of five siblings born to the late Floyd U. Jordan and Vashti C. Jordan. She passed away on January 25, 2016 in Greenville, NC.

"Nessie" as she was known to many, was raised in Plymouth, NC. She attended Washington County Public Schools. Nessie worked at Plymouth Garment Factory for many years. She later moved to Washington, NC where she worked as a guest attendant at McDonald's. In 2013, she moved to Greenville, NC where she was currently residing and working at Holiday Inn as a housekeeper. She loved to cook and sew.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her only daughter- Felesha Jordan Brown (Travis); grandsons- Maurice Linwood Downing and Travis Jordan Brown; two sisters- Sabrina Moore (Delmon)-Albany, GA., Shelia Jackson- Greenville, NC; two aunts- Mamie Evans and Dorothy Green both of New York; one uncle- Shelton Jordan, Jr.- Plymouth, NC; six nieces, four nephews, and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death are two brothers, Floyd U. Jordan, Jr. and Roy Alexander Jordan.

Funeral services were 11:00AM January 30, 2016 at Toodle's Funeral Home with Pastor Kathy F. Grace, officiating. Burial followed at Toodle's Cemetery.
