Obituary

Mrs. Vivian Moore Cherry was born April 8, 1942 in Plymouth, NC. She was the daughter of the late William and Vaster Moore. Vivian attended school in Washington and Martin Counties.

Vivian's affectionate smile warmed the hearts of many people. She was a faithful member of Lilly of the Valley Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Mother Board as well as chairman of the kitchen committee for many years. She was also a member of the Willing Women's Workers Club and a former member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxillary Huriel L. Moore Chapter 62. Vivian nutured and cared for many families and neighborhood children.

Vivian married Arlander Cherry, Sr. on December 22, 1961. To this union they were blessed with four daughters and one son. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was very family oriented, dedicated, dependable, kind, loving and always willing to lend a helping hand to others. She was affectionately known as "Grandma Wee Wee".

Vivian leaves to cherish her memories: three daughters- Sharon and Renee Cherry of Plymouth, NC., Leora Michelle Cherry- Greeenville, NC.; one son- Arlander Cherry, Jr. (Denotra)- Plymouth, NC.; son-in-law- Berkley Mack Blount- Plymouth, NC.; six grandchildren- Berkley Mack Blount, Jr.(LaWanda), Letrell Cherry, Arlander Cherry, III, Colon Cherry, Jadyn Cherry and Monisha Grimes; three great-grandsons- Xzavier Cherry, Daveon Blount and Jamal Davis; one great-grandaughter- Layanna Jordan(Victor); two sisters- Ann Sanders ans Minnie Pearl Moore of Plymouth, NC; two brothers- Leander Moore and Charlie Moore of Plymouth; twelve sister-in-laws, four brother-in-laws, two aunts and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arlander Cherry, Sr., daughter, Gale Cerry Blount, sister, Vaster Virginia Moore, three brothers William Russell Moore, Huriel Lee Moore, and Raymond Earl Moore.

Funeral services were 1:00PM Tuesday April 19, 2016 at Lilly of the Valley Baptist Church with Pastor Jasper Arnold, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in Moore Cemetery.
