William Davenport was affectionately known to everyone as "Head" was born November 3, 1970. He was called home to rest on September 19, 2021.
William was the son of the late Edward and Ethel Davenport of Plymouth North Carolina. He primarily grew up in Plymouth and was educated in the Washington County School systems where he graduated from Plymouth High School in 1989. He immediately enlisted active duty in the United States, Army until 1991. He was assigned to HHC 7th Engineer Battalion (Infantry) in Fort Polk, Louisiana. William served and earned his rank of Specialist performing supervisory duties as an Army Equipment Records and Parts Specialist. His accolades', medals, and leadership proceeded him into his civilian career. After serving his time in the military, he was employed at Weyerhaeuser in Plymouth, NC, and later transitioned to AR Textile in Robersonville, NC, where he was eventually promoted to supervisor. While juggling many jobs and a family in between, William acquired higher education at Martin Community College.
William leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife, Barbara Davenport, four children, Renee (Davonta) Williams of Sylva, NC, Dashawn Wrighton of Greenville, NC, William (Quielle) Davenport of Walstonburg, NC, Makayla Davenport of Greenville, NC; brother, Paul (Hilda) Perkins of Columbia, NC, (sister) Patricia Perkins of Raleigh, NC, brother, Kelvin (Barbara) Perkins of Plymouth, NC, sister, Milliesonnia (Carl) Brooks of Raleigh, NC and his two granddaughters who he adored Nova Davenport and Ayla Grimes. He is survived by a host of nieces, nephews cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who he loved very much. William was proceeded in death by his father, Edward Davenport Jr., and mother, Ethel Davenport, grandfathers, Edward Davenport, and William Hill, grandmothers, Cora Lee Davenport and Margie Basknight.
Walk Through Visitation will be held from 6pm-7pm on Friday, September 24, 2021, at Toodle's Funeral Home Chapel 216 Washington Street Plymouth, NC.
Graveside Service will be 1pm on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Toodle's Funeral Home Cemetery 305 Wilson Street Plymouth, NC.
Pastor Sylvester L. Pleasant will be officiating.
MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED FOR THE VISITATION AND GRAVESIDE SERVICE...
